Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition Limited
Since signing up for the Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge, Sahel Consulting has continued the implementation of its livelihood project known as Advancing Local Dairy Development in Nigeria (ALDDN). The project focuses on improving smallholder dairy farmers’ productivity by increasing technical support services, increasing demand for locally sourced milk from smallholder dairy households, improving nutrition in smallholder dairy households, and targeted services to women dairy farmers.
Sahel Consulting also works on increasing demand for locally sourced products through engagement with public and private buyers, wholesalers, and other value chain participants. So far, more than 27,000 farmers have been integrated into the local sourcing dairy supply chain, and trained on sustainable dairy practices including nutrition and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
Sahel Consulting has also been working on helping farmers have access to sustainable and climate-resilient seeds.
