Mobilising private sector investment to end hunger and enhance nutrition in Africa
The Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge will co-organise a side event during the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) 2024 together with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNI) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).
The event, which will take place on Monday 2 September, from 11.45 AM to 12.45 PM, at the Kigali Convention Centre (Room MH1), Rwanda, will look at 'Mobilising private sector investment to end hunger and enhance nutrition in Africa'.
This side event is designed to discuss the urgent need for investment in sustainable food systems across the continent, putting an emphasis on nutrition, sustainability, women's empowerment and youth involvement to catalyse the effort to achieve SDG2—Zero Hunger.
As Africa faces significant challenges in food security and nutrition, this event will bring together key stakeholders to discuss strategies for mobilising investments that foster equitable, sustainable and nutritious food systems on the continent. Participants will also gain insights into the critical role of women and youth in transforming food systems and the importance of supporting businesses that prioritise nutritious food production. Key questions will explore the link between nutrition and soil health, the importance of women's leadership, and the challenges of investing in sustainable food systems.
