The Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge is delighted to announce Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNi) as the latest organisation to join our mission of mobilising the private sector in the fight to end hunger and malnutrition.

As a global foundation dedicated to driving market transformation  to shape healthier food systems, ATNi brings invaluable expertise in nutrition and a strong network to the Pledge community. With a shared focus on catalysing private sector commitment to improve the food sector and reduce hunger and malnutrition, this partnership strengthens the collective effort towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

“The private sector must be part of the solution to end malnutrition. The Zero Hunger Pledge supports this aim by encouraging, collecting and monitoring meaningful private sector commitments.  This complements ATNi’s ongoing work to improve the business case for nutrition, transform markets for nutrition and improve private sector accountability and engagement,” said Greg Garrett, Executive Director of ATNi.

ATNi joins a growing list of technical partners supporting the Pledge, including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Shamba Centre for Food & Climate, World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

The Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge is a pioneering initiative that recognises the crucial role of the business community to end hunger. Guided by research from Ceres2030: Sustainable Solutions to End Hunger, it prioritises interventions and geographies where private sector investment can have the most significant impact. The Pledge’s alignment with the Zero Hunger Coalition further ensures strong coordination with public sector efforts to deliver transformative and sustainable solutions.

Since its launch in 2021, the Pledge has mobilised 75 companies, for commitments totalling USD 642 million. We invite businesses of all sizes from around the world to join our global call to end hunger and malnutrition. More information on how to pledge can be found here.
